Specific issues
Housing plans
· How many speculative housing developments are liable to be built in this immediate area over the next ten years?
· Why is there not a local plan implemented that would limit the speculative land grabbing that we see going on today?
· What is meant by ‘Affordable Housing’ and how is this implemented and monitored?
· Why are local Brownfield sites not being used first, and how is it proposed that this will happen in the future?
Facilitation of schooling and supporting transport
· How will the local schooling requirements be met, as places are already limited?
· Will schoolchildren, in particular infants and juniors, have to travel further afield for their education?
· Will extra transport be supplied for the students? If so, how?
· How will road safety for the children be managed in light of the extra vehicles using the local roads?
Medical facilities, surgeries, A&E
· With the rationalisation of emergency NHS services being implemented, how will the enlarged population receive emergency treatment?
· How will overcrowding of local surgeries be addressed, with appointments already hard to get?
Basic amenities
· Water pressure levels are already low.
· Frequent power cuts in the village.
· Slow internet in some areas.
· Inadequate Sewerage, drain capability and capacity at sewerage works.
Public transport facilities
· What additional public transport services will be provided to sustain local growth?
· Will additional parking be provided at the local stations, and how would this be achieved?
· Will the bus running times be extended into the later hours?
· Will safe cycle and walking routes be provided?
Road infrastructure and maintenance
· How are country lanes going to be kept safe with the increased traffic?
· What will be done to alleviate further problems to the already frequently gridlocked main routes?
· How will regular road maintenance be implemented, bearing in mind it is rarely carried out now?
Social activity centres
· What are the proposed additional recreational facilities for the expanding community with regard to sports, social, children, youth and adult?
Loss of village identity
· Cressing is in danger of becoming a town instead of a village but still lacking the infrastructure and services.
Biodiversity
· How is the Impact of excessive building that may have on local wildlife, plants and trees (flora and fauna) to be alleviated?
This page will contain different things that you may be able to do to help even if you are not actively involved in CAG.
There will be a list of suggested comments you might like to send to BDC in relation to particular applications.
For example:-
Template letters and a list of the sort of people you might like to send them to with email/postal addresses. People like the local MP's and the Secretary of State for Housing to lobby to try and get the legislation changed etc.
If you would like a .pdf version of this poster emailed to you please fill in the contact form on the CAG Contact page and tick the poster box. Don't forget to leave your email address.
